Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a motivated Science Technician to join the Science Department of a prestigious secondary school in Peterborough.

You will prepare equipment and chemicals for practical lessons, set up and clear away experiments, maintain stock, and support health and safety across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Training will be provided, and you will work well in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Has a background in science (academic or practical).
• Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Has good attention to detail and strong health and safety awareness.
• Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment.
• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons.
• Setting up and clearing away experiments in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Maintaining, organising and ordering stock and equipment.
• Supporting practical lessons where required.
• Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations.
