Job summary

We Manage Jobs(WMJobs) seeks a Science Technician for permanent term-time work at Ryecroft CE Middle School and Windsor Park CE Middle School in the Uttoxeter area. The role is 20 hours per week across two sites, with a start as soon as possible.

Salary is Grade 3: Point 5, with term-time conditions and flexible scheduling between campuses. The candidate will support science teaching by preparing resources, maintaining lab safety, and ensuring equipment readiness.

Qualifications

  • NVQ2 in LATA or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and safe handling of chemicals.
  • Ability to prepare resources for practical lessons meeting health and safety standards.

Science Technician

Location: Ryecroft CE Middle School ST14 5PB & Windsor Park CE Middle School ST14 7JXStart date: AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Contract: Permanent, Term-Time – 20 hours per week. To be worked flexibly between the two schools.

Salary: Grade 3: Point 5

About You

Are you an enthusiastic, resourceful and skilled Science Technician? Do you have the practical expertise, organisation and personality to support outstanding teaching and learning in science? Are you passionate about science and committed to helping young people develop the knowledge, skills and curiosity they need to achieve their full potential?

  • You will have the practical expertise to make a real difference and want to be part of a team that is ambitious for its pupils
  • You will have NVQ2 in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (LATA) Educational or NVQ2 School Support Staff, or other appropriate equivalent qualification or experience
  • You will have knowledge of appropriate use of laboratory equipment (including handling chemicals safely).
  • You will be able to provide and prepare resources for practical lessons that meets both the health & safety standards and the requirements of the classes involved
  • A good understanding and ability to use technology
  • A clean driving licence is advantageous as there will be travel between our sites
