Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a highly organized Science Laboratory Technician to support Biology, Chemistry and Physics practicals at a Chesterton, Cambridge secondary school. The role focuses on managing the prep room and ensuring smooth delivery of lessons across KS3 to KS5.

Ideal candidates will have a science degree or relevant lab experience, and a strong commitment to COSHH/CLEAPSS safety. Term-time options and full-year availability are offered, with an ASAP start.

Qualifications

• Degree or formal qualification in a scientific field or prior laboratory experience.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety guidelines (COSHH, CLEAPSS, risk assessments).
• Excellent organizational skills and precision when handling chemicals.
• Strong teamwork and communication with science teachers and students.

Responsibilities

• Prepare chemical solutions and maintain prep room inventories.
• Assemble electronic circuits and set up microscopic equipment.
• Assist teachers during live laboratory demonstrations.
• Ensure total adherence to CLEAPSS guidelines and COSHH storage.
