Job summary

The Princethorpe Foundation is seeking a full-time Science Technician to join the friendly Science Department in Rugby. You will service KS3 to KS5 and support current technicians, with an aptitude for laboratory work.

The role is term-time only (36 weeks per year) with hours from 8.00am to 4.00pm, and a salary scale on D9 to D11. Benefits include staff discounts, on-site car parking, a pension scheme and cycle to work facilities.

Job description

Required to start in October, we seek to recruit a full-time Science Technician to join our friendly and professional Science Department. The Science Technician will service KS3 to KS5 and support the current technicians. A proven aptitude for working in a technical support team or working in school science laboratories would be an advantage.

The role will also include keeping the laboratories, preparation rooms and storage areas clean, tidy and well-organised. Basic numeracy and literacy skills, a flexible and collaborative approach, together with a willingness to undertake further studies would be advantageous.

This is a full-time permanent, term-time only role (36 weeks per year including INSET days). The working pattern is from 8.00am to 4.00pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch Monday to Friday.

The starting salary for this role is D9 to D11 of the Princethorpe Foundation support staff scale, currently £27,301.14 to £27,781.57 per annum full-time equivalent (£21,648.97 to £22,029.93 actual salary including holiday pay per annum) by negotiation, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
