Altrincham College is seeking a Science Technician to support the Science department across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, delivering practical activities and maintaining labs.
The role includes equipment management, preparing materials for lessons, health and safety checks and basic admin tasks. It is a full‑time post (36.25 hours) term‑time plus one week, with DBS checks required.
Previous school experience is not essential, but reliability and attention to detail are important.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our great team at Altrincham College as a Science Technician.
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic candidate to work as a Technician supporting the Science department in delivering the practical aspects of Science courses across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
The successful candidate will be supported by the Senior Science Technician and the Head of Department and will work as part of a two-technician team.
Previous detailed Science knowledge is not a pre-requisite, but a general interest would be an advantage. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in an organised and efficient manner, have excellent attention to detail, and above all be honest, conscientious and determined.
Previous school experience is not necessary, but you should be comfortable in a busy secondary school environment and be willing to undergo enhanced DBS checks and Safeguarding training.
Working as part of this important team, you will be required to carry out the duties detailed in the attached job description to the highest possible standard.
