Job summary

The Orchard is seeking a diligent lab support assistant to prepare equipment, chemicals and specimens for school practical sessions and examinations. You will construct, set up and dismantle equipment under teacher guidance and ensure demonstrations run smoothly.

You will maintain laboratories and equipment in a clean, safe, and tidy state, assist with stock control and storage following health and safety guidance and school policies. Full training and induction will be provided.

Job description

We are looking for a hard working individual to provide and prepare all equipment, chemicals and specimens for practical sessions and examinations including constructing, setting up and dismantling equipment as required by the teaching staff.

Main duties will include advising and supporting teaching staff in the safe and proper use of equipment and contributing to demonstrations as required. You will contribute to the maintenance of the laboratories and equipment in a clean, safe and tidy condition at all times and assist with the racking, storage and control of stock in accordance with health and safety guidance and school policies.

Full training, support and induction will be provided.
