Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to work within the Alternative Provision department of a well-established secondary school in Warrington. You will teach Science to KS3 and KS4 students in an AP setting, with small class sizes around eight pupils, enabling strong relationships and targeted pupil progress.

The contract is temporary, full-time and start is ASAP, with the position ending December 2026.

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience working with pupils displaying challenging behaviour or within an Alternative Provision, SEND or SEMH setting would be advantageous
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training is provided)

Responsibilities

• Teach Science to KS3 and KS4 students within an Alternative Provision setting
• Deliver lessons to small classes (approximately 8 students) to support progress and engagement
