Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed Maths Teacher to join the Alternative Provision department of a well-established Secondary School in Warrington. You will teach Maths to KS3 and KS4 in a small-class AP setting, delivering targeted support and helping learners overcome barriers to education.

The role starts ASAP and runs until Christmas 2026, with potential extension or permanent/perma-temp opportunities for the right candidate. Full-time, temporary contract.

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Maths at Secondary level
• Experience working with pupils displaying challenging behaviour or within an Alternative Provision, SEND or SEMH setting would be advantageous
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths to KS3 and KS4 students within an Alternative Provision setting
• Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons to small classes (~8 students)
• Provide targeted academic support and help learners overcome barriers to education
