Smile Education is recruiting a qualified Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Oldham. You will deliver engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics for KS3 and KS4, combining theory with practical work.

Science Teacher
Oldham
£170–£235 per day | ASAP start | Long-term

Smile Education are recruiting for a qualified Science Teacher to work within a secondary school in Oldham.

This role is suitable for a QTS Science Teacher with recent UK secondary school experience across KS3 and KS4.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics as required. You will support pupils with both theoretical and practical Science, maintain strong classroom routines and ensure practical work is delivered safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Plan and deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons.
  • Prepare pupils for GCSE Science where required.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including SEND.
  • Maintain strong classroom and behaviour management.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide feedback where required.
  • Promote safe working practices within classrooms and laboratories.
  • Contribute positively to the wider Science department.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school expectations.
Requirements
  • QTS is essential.
  • Applicants without QTS will not be considered.
  • Recent experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school is required.
  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 Science is essential.
  • Experience teaching Biology, Chemistry or Physics to GCSE level is desirable.
  • ECTs may be considered where they have recent UK secondary school experience.
  • You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
  • You must have full right to work in the UK.
Pay and Benefits
  • £170–£235 per day, dependent on experience and responsibilities.
  • Long-term role within a secondary school in Oldham.
  • ASAP start available.
