Job summary

Supply Desk is expanding our pool of Science Teachers for secondary schools across Sussex. We are seeking candidates with QTS or recognised equivalent and strong Science knowledge to teach KS3/KS4 across Physics, Chemistry or Biology, or General Science.

Roles range from day-to-day supply to short- and long-term placements in Brighton, Crawley, Chichester and Worthing, with dedicated consultant support and opportunities across the region.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised equivalent required.
• Strong subject knowledge in Science.
• Experience teaching KS3 and/or KS4.
• Physics, Chemistry or Biology specialization advantageous.
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour handling.
• Ability to differentiate for varied abilities.
• Strong communication and reliability essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across KS3/KS4.
• Teach Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics according to specialization.
• Differentiate to meet diverse learning needs.
• Deliver practical and theoretical science safely.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress and GCSE prep when needed.
• Support pupils with SEND and collaborate with science department.
• Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures.

Supply Desk is expanding our pool of Science Teachers for secondary schools across Sussex.

We are particularly interested in teachers with experience or specialisms in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or General Science.

We work with schools across Brighton, Crawley, Chichester, Worthing and surrounding areas, with opportunities ranging from individual supply days through to longer-term placements.

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and/or KS4

• Teach Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics according to your specialism

• Adapt lessons for different abilities and learning needs

• Deliver practical and theoretical Science lessons safely

• Assess and monitor pupil progress

• Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations where required

• Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement

• Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

• Provide constructive feedback to pupils

• Work collaboratively with the Science department

• Follow school safeguarding and health and safety procedures

• QTS or recognised equivalent
