Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Science Teacher for a South Birmingham 11-18 comprehensive school starting September 2026. The role is full-time and fixed-term, with responsibilities primarily in Science and some PE delivery.

You will hold QTS with a Science specialism, have secondary teaching experience, and demonstrate excellent classroom management and high expectations of students. The school offers strong CPD and supportive leadership, with pay rates of £170-£232 per day under PAYE.

The school is looking to take on a Science Teacher from September 2026 on a full-time, fixed-term basis. The successful Science Teacher will primarily teach Science while also contributing to PE, with teaching commitments determined by experience and expertise, alongside supporting extracurricular activities and educational visits.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

• QTS with a Science specialism
• Experience teaching Science within a secondary school
• The ability to contribute confidently to the delivery of PE
• Excellent classroom management and high expectations of students
• A passion for delivering high-quality teaching and achieving excellent outcomes
• A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
