Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Science Teacher for an outstanding 11-18 comprehensive school in South Birmingham. The role will primarily teach Science and contribute to PE, with timetable determined by experience and expertise, including supporting extracurricular activities and educational visits.

The successful candidate will have QTS with a Science specialism, with experience in a secondary setting, excellent classroom management, and a passion for high-quality teaching and outcomes.

Salary: £170 - £232 per day

The school is looking to take on a Science Teacher from September 2026 on a full-time, fixed-term basis. The successful Science Teacher will primarily teach Science while also contributing to PE, with teaching commitments determined by experience and expertise, alongside supporting extracurricular activities and educational visits.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

• QTS with a Science specialism
• Experience teaching Science within a secondary school
• The ability to contribute confidently to the delivery of PE
• Excellent classroom management and high expectations of students
• A passion for delivering high-quality teaching and achieving excellent outcomes
