Job summary

St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College is seeking an IT Technician to provide day-to-day IT and AV support across two College sites and feeder primary schools. You will handle service desk tasks, desktops and laptops, Microsoft 365, Entra, networks, AV equipment and livestreaming.

Reporting to the IT Services Delivery Manager, you will diagnose issues, maintain records, deploy apps via Intune, support events, and ensure security, asset registers, and data protection compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve IT hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra; experience with device management systems (Intune).
• Experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, networks and wireless equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills; patient with users of varying IT confidence.
• Commitment to information security, confidentiality and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Manage and update support tickets in Halo ITSM.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Escalate unresolved or complex problems to the IT Services Delivery Manager.
• Produce clear technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Install, configure, maintain and repair desktops, laptops, tablets, printers and peripherals.
• Deploy applications and device policies through Microsoft Intune and other device-management systems.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra accounts, groups and licences.
• Support network equipment, switches, cabling and wireless access points.
• Maintain an accurate asset register and complete annual stock checks.
• Securely wipe, dispose of and record equipment at end of life.
• Prepare rooms, devices and systems for examinations and events.
• Apply security updates and report suspected incidents.
