Job summary

St Helens Council is advertising a Passenger Assistant role at Rectory Primary School – Orchard Specialist Provision. The part-time post is 15 hours per week, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and complex learning needs on journeys to and from school.

The successful candidate will be patient, adaptable, positive and resilient, with a commitment to helping every child feel safe, secure and supported. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with SEND is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure pupils travel safely and comfortably to and from school.
• Provide reassurance and support tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Respond calmly and positively to changing situations and individual needs.
• Work closely with the driver and school staff to ensure pupils have a safe and positive journey.
