Job summary

Rectory Primary School – Orchard Specialist Provision is seeking a dedicated Passenger Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and complex learning needs on school journeys. This part-time role (15 hours/week) focuses on safety, reassurance and positive connections with each pupil.

The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable and reliable, with a commitment to inclusive education. Experience with SEND is desirable, and an enhanced DBS check is required.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure pupils travel safely and comfortably to and from school.
• Provide reassurance and support tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Respond calmly and positively to changing situations and individual needs.
• Work closely with the driver and school staff to ensure pupils have a safe and positive journey.
