Job summary

Connex Education Partnership are seeking a SEND Support Worker for a school in Bury supporting pupils aged 11-19 with complex SEND needs. The role runs 8.30am–3.00pm and starts 3 September 2026, full-time.

You will work with a dedicated team to create a calm, engaging learning environment, with CPD, career progression, and a refer-a-friend scheme as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children or adults as a Support Worker.
• A genuine passion of wanting to help children develop and succeed.
• A good understanding of Special Needs and how to provide a child-centered approach.
• Be willing to provide personal care.
• Be able to work as a team with other class TA’s to help create a calm and engaging learning environment.
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils.
• Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour, identifying triggers and using de-escalation techniques.
• Be willing to adapt and move around classrooms if needed.
• Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.

About the role

Connex Education are working with a SEND School in Bury who are looking for local support workers who are interested in working in Education as a SEND Teaching Assistant. The School caters for pupils 11-19 years with complex SEND needs. They are seeking support workers who have experience working in residential homes, hospitals or as a personal assistant.

About the School

This School caters for pupils aged 11-19 years who have complex SEND including Autism.. They have fantastic on-site facilities and all staff work together to provide students with a calm and engaging learning environment alongside promoting independence.

As a Support Worker you will have transferable skills and we will provide you with CPD to help transition your skills into Education.

Assignment details

This School Support Worker role will commence 3rd September 2026, this is a full time role. The hours consist of working 8.30am-3.00pm.
