Job summary

Hednesford Valley High School is seeking a dedicated Site Technician to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students with SEND. The role covers security, safety aspects, and both planned and reactive maintenance, with supervision of contractors and ensuring first-class presentation of buildings and grounds.

The role offers 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a split-shift pattern to open at 7:00am and close at 6:00pm, all year round. DBS checks will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, facilities management or a similar site-based role.
• Solid understanding of health and safety requirements, including risk assessment and safe working practices.
• Able to solve problems independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication with staff, contractors, students and visitors.
• Reliable, trustworthy and committed to safeguarding children and young people.
• Calm under pressure and capable of handling emergencies.
• Comfortable working on their own during school closure periods.
