Job summary

Hednesford Valley High School is seeking an experienced Site Technician to help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, including SEND provision. You will manage site security, safety compliance and planned/reactive maintenance while supervising contractors and ensuring buildings and grounds remain well-presented.

The role requires reliability, practical problem-solving, and the ability to work independently, including during school closure periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Strong understanding of health and safety, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Able to prioritise tasks, solve problems independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication with staff, contractors, students and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming school environment.
• Oversee site security, health and safety compliance, and building/grounds upkeep.
• Plan and respond to maintenance needs; supervise contractors where required.
