Job summary

Hednesford Valley High School is seeking a Site Technician to help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, including those with SEND. The role covers site security, safety compliance, and maintenance across buildings and grounds.

Hours are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, with a split-shift pattern to open at 7:00am and secure the premises by 6:00pm. It is a permanent, all-year-round post with opportunities for training and professional development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building maintenance, facilities management or a similar site-based role.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements, including risk assessment and safe working practices.
• Practical, resourceful and able to solve problems independently.
• Takes ownership of tasks and can prioritise workloads effectively.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, trustworthy and committed to safeguarding children and young people.
• Remains calm under pressure and responds effectively to emergencies.
• Comfortable working on their own during school closure periods.
