School Site Operative: Maintenance, Security & Grounds

Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a Site Operative to ensure a clean, safe, secure learning and working environment within our Leeds academies. The role covers security, cleaning, minor repairs and grounds maintenance across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

You will work 40 hours per week between 7am and 7pm, 52 weeks a year, across Wellspring academies. Applicants should be prepared to operate tools and report maintenance needs in line with Trust policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance and site safety.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Willingness to work across multiple sites in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for security and safety of buildings and grounds.
• Keep the site clean and litter-free.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance.
• Support grounds maintenance and outdoor areas.
• Move furniture and equipment as required.
• Identify maintenance issues and report concerns.
• Carry out decorating.
• Operate hand tools, power tools and site machinery.
• Assist with emergencies and winter maintenance.
• Conduct daily site checks for pupil and staff safety.
• Work in line with Trust policies on safeguarding and safety.
