Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust in Leeds is recruiting a Site Maintenance Operative to help deliver a clean, safe, secure learning and working environment across our Leeds academies. You will be responsible for security, safety of buildings and grounds, and carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.

Working 40 hours per week, 52 weeks a year, between 7am and 7pm, you will support grounds maintenance, decorate internally and externally, operate tools, and respond to emergencies or winter

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the security and safety of buildings and grounds.
• Keep the site clean, tidy and free from litter, debris and leaves.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance across the school.
• Support with grounds maintenance, including clearing waste and maintaining outdoor areas.
• Move furniture and equipment as required.
• Take a proactive approach to identifying maintenance issues and reporting concerns.
• Carry out internal and external decorating.
• Operate hand tools, power tools and site machinery.
• Assist with emergencies, site enquiries and winter maintenance such as gritting paths.
• Conduct daily site checks to keep all areas safe for pupils and staff.
