Job summary

Avanti Gardens School is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee maintenance, safety, security and daily operations of the school site in Bristol. You will lead contractors and site staff to ensure facilities are well-maintained, safe and welcoming for pupils and staff.

Responsibilities include health and safety compliance, lettings, stock and budget management, and safeguarding duties, working closely with the Principal and school team to support the Trust’s ethos and welfare commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience in a facilities management or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
• Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, security, cleaning, caretaking and general upkeep of the school site, ensuring facilities are safe, well-maintained and fit for purpose.
• Lead and coordinate contractors, cleaners and site staff, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, within agreed timescales and in line with policy.
• Manage health and safety, compliance checks, inspections, risk assessments, maintenance schedules and records, escalating risks when needed.
• Manage lettings, deliveries, stock, equipment, supplies and site-related budgets, ensuring resources are maintained and used effectively.
• Build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, parents and stakeholders, contributing to the wider life of the school and safeguarding responsibilities.
