Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Facilities Manager to take ownership of a busy school site in Bristol, ensuring safe, compliant and well-maintained facilities on a full-time, permanent basis. You will work closely with the Principal and team to coordinate maintenance, cleaning, lettings, and site resources while upholding high safety and security standards.

The role requires experience in facilities management, good health and safety knowledge, and a proactive, organised approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation
• Ability to assess and carry out minor repairs and maintenance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to apply basic ICT skills to the needs of the job
• A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving
• Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of students

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance, security, cleaning, caretaking and general upkeep
• Lead and coordinate contractors, cleaners and site staff
• Manage compliance checks, inspections, risk assessments, maintenance schedules and records
• Manage lettings, deliveries, stock, equipment, supplies and site-related budgets
• Build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, parents and other stakeholders while supporting safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
