Job summary

Alton Park Junior School in Tendring seeks a proactive Site Manager to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment. You will manage premises maintenance, health and safety checks, and coordinate external contractors, lettings, and security requirements, while supporting budget stewardship.

With a background in facilities management within an educational setting, you will lead on building systems, risk assessments, and safeguarding compliance, ensuring smooth operations across the site

Qualifications

• Proven track record in premises maintenance and H&S checks.
• Experience coordinating external contractors and letting/lettings support is a plus.
• Strong communication and organisational skills in a busy school setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead premises maintenance and preventative programmes.
• Oversee heating, plant systems and minor estate projects.
• Line manage Site Assistant and oversee cleaning and contractors.
• Coordinate site security, alarms, CCTV, and out-of-hours calls.
• Manage budgets for premises, waste, utilities, cleaning, and safety.
