Job summary

Grove Vale Primary School is seeking a dedicated Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation, security, maintenance and cleanliness of the school site. You will ensure buildings and grounds are safe, well maintained and fit for purpose at all times.

Role requires at least three years in site management or related roles, with strong health and safety knowledge. The position is based at Grove Vale Primary, Birmingham, with options for training and development.

Qualifications

• At least three years of site management, maintenance, or caretaking experience.
• Experience supervising or monitoring staff.
• Practical maintenance and DIY skills.
• Strong health and safety knowledge, COSHH and fire safety.
• Able to communicate effectively with staff, contractors and external agencies.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Relevant training such as COSHH, IOSH, Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness, and Fire Safety is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the security of the school site and CCTV systems.
• Carry out routine inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Coordinate and monitor contractors and external service providers.
• Supervise cleaning staff and maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Support health and safety compliance and keep records.
• Manage minor repairs and site improvement projects.
• Monitor utilities and promote energy efficiency.
• Work with school leaders to ensure smooth daily operations.
