Job summary

The role includes opening/locking, routine inspections, coordinating works, and supporting a safe learning environment.

The successful candidate will have facilities management or caretaking experience, DBS clearance, and the ability to work independently with strong organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in site supervision, caretaking or facilities management.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements within buildings and workplaces.
• Ability to identify and resolve site-related issues.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Experience in a school/educational environment.
• Fire safety or first aid training.
• Experience supervising contractors and maintenance providers.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure the school premises according to schedules.
• Carry out daily site inspections to ensure safety and operation.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs across the site.
• Monitor buildings, grounds and external areas.
• Coordinate repairs with contractors and service providers.
• Support emergency procedures and incident response.
• Maintain records of inspections and compliance checks.
• Liaise with school leadership, staff, contractors and visitors.
• Ensure waste disposal and cleanliness standards.
• Manage access control and site security.
