Stanley Park Junior School in Greater London is recruiting a proactive Site Manager to oversee the management, maintenance and improvement of the school site.

The role is 36 hours per week all year round with flexible start/end times; salary £34,448 - £39,276 depending on experience, plus 23 days leave and bank holidays. A strong applicant will drive safety, efficiency and collaborative working across staff and families.

  • Undertake deliveries, collections and porterage as required.
  • Maintain professional standards and positive relationships with stakeholders.

Job description

Due to the retirement of our current Site Manager, Stanley Park Junior School is looking to appoint a new Site Manager. We are a successful, friendly and inclusive three-form entry Foundation School with a stable, strong and successful staff team. We were rated “Good” in our last Ofsted in September 2023. We seek to employ a reliable, enthusiastic, cheerful, friendly, proactive and well-motivated person to join our team. They will take on the management, maintenance and improvement of our school site.

The hours of work will be 36 hours per week, all year round.

Hours to be worked either 7am-11am & 3pm-6pm Mon-Fri or 7am-10.30am and 2.30-6pm. (Exact timings may be negotiated.) The other hour will be worked on a flexible basis each week e.g. 2.30pm start on Wednesday and finish at 11.30 on Friday etc.

The Salary grade is 6/S01 (spine point range 16-25) Salary £34,448 - £39,276 (depending on experience)

Annual Leave Entitlement will be a minimum of 23 days plus 2 statutory days and bank holidays. Annual leave should mostly be taken during school holidays and in negotiation with the headteacher.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To maintain the school buildings and grounds to a high standard to support teaching and learning and ensure that all families and staff are safe.
  • Ensure site security, including key holding, alarm management, opening/closing premises, and liaison with emergency services.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs, decorating, and grounds upkeep.
  • Plan and manage a rolling programme of refurbishment and redecoration in line with the School Development Plan.
  • Lead on health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, inspections, PAT testing, and record keeping.
  • Supervise, support, and manage cleaning staff, including performance monitoring and training needs.
  • To seek quotes for building/refurbishments and liaise with school business manager.
  • To support school lettings, including coordination with hirers, site preparation, and out-of-hours access.
  • Undertake deliveries, collections, and other porterage duties as required.
  • Act professionally at all times, uphold the school’s reputation, and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
