Job summary

Furze Platt Senior School is seeking a dedicated Site Assistant to join our Estates team in Maidenhead. You will help maintain buildings and grounds to a high standard, ensuring a safe, clean environment for students and staff.

Hours are 37 per week, with 29 days annual leave plus bank holidays, typically 12:00–20:00, with holidays 08:00–16:00. The role includes security, minor maintenance, deliveries, and acting as Fire Warden.

Qualifications

• Capable of minor maintenance tasks including gardening, painting, repairs.
• Good organisational skills and communication across levels.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team; adaptable and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the security of the school site, including being on call for emergencies out of hours.
• Keep the school safe, tidy and to a good level of aesthetic standard.
• Provide support services for day-to-day operation of the School, external lettings and events.
• Undertake minor maintenance such as installations, renovations, redecoration and repairs.
• Handle materials and equipment safely, using tools where needed.
• Move furniture and equipment, including heavier items, as required.
• Deliver mail and parcels across the School Estate.
• Act as Fire Warden, liaising with emergency services when required.
