Job summary

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Stanford-le-Hope is seeking a Site Manager to oversee day-to-day maintenance, safety, and security of the school site. You will open/secure premises, supervise cleaning staff, and coordinate contractor works to keep facilities safe and well‑maintained.

The role requires COSHH knowledge, a full driving licence, and the ability to perform physical tasks. You will report to theHeadteacher and contribute to safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with contractors.
• Knowledge of COSHH and health & safety procedures.
• Full driving licence and ability to undertake physical tasks including lifting.
• Good ICT skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day maintenance, safety and security of the school site.
• Act as keyholder for opening and securing premises.
• Oversee cleaning staff and ensure high standards of cleanliness.
• Monitor heating, lighting, and plant systems to maintain conditions.
• Liaise with contractors and manage site works.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and DBS checks.
• Maintain records of maintenance and safety inspections.
