Job summary

Reed is seeking a School Site Service Officer in London, specifically Walthamstow, to oversee caretaking and cleaning operations. The role involves liaising with the Site Manager, securing premises, and leading the in-house cleaning team to keep the school clean, safe, and welcoming.

You will handle security checks, simple repairs, and co-ordinate with contractors for premises-related work, while ensuring minimal disruption to students and staff.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Caretaker/Site Supervisor experience.
• Experience managing in-house cleaning teams and facilities.
• Ability to liaise with school leadership and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Security: Lock/unlock buildings; assist with security checks; operate alarm systems; cover lettings; monitor CCTV; respond to alarm calls.
• Cleaning and maintenance: assist with minor repairs; operate heating and lighting; collect waste; manage cleaning team; undertake cleaning duties; emergency cleaning; liaise with contractors on premises work; provide emergency access; maintain external environment (e.g. gritting).
• Resources: ensure a clean, orderly environment; prepare equipment/resources; basic record keeping; refill consumables; report faults; maintain security of entrances/exits; ensure lights are off.
