GUARDIAN SELECTION LIMITED is seeking a skilled Science Technician to join a well-regarded secondary grammar school in Medway. This long-term supply role supports a period of absence in the science department and involves preparing resources, equipment and lab spaces for practical lessons.

You will work closely with teaching staff, ensuring safe, engaging practical activities and maintaining equipment and stock. Experience in a school setting, strong HSE knowledge, and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Right to work in the UK and compliance with safeguarding checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organise equipment, chemicals, materials and resources for practical science lessons.
• Work with science teachers to ensure activities are prepared and conducted safely.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and store resources properly.
• Follow health and safety procedures and support safe use of laboratories.
• Assist with preparation and clearing of demonstrations and experiments.
• Monitor stock levels and report needs to relevant staff.
• Keep laboratory environments clean, organised and safe at all times.
