Job summary

GSL Education Kent is seeking a skilled Science Technician to join a well-regarded secondary grammar school in Medway. The role is long-term supply with a strong emphasis on health and safety in a busy school laboratory.

You will prepare resources, maintain equipment, and support teaching staff to deliver practical science lessons. DBS checks and safer recruitment are required, with a strong commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organise equipment, chemicals, materials, and resources for practical science lessons.
• Work closely with science teachers to ensure practical activities are ready and conducted safely.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are stored appropriately.
• Follow strict health and safety procedures and support the safe use of science laboratories.
• Assist with the preparation and clearing of practical demonstrations and experiments.
• Monitor stock levels and report any equipment or resource requirements to the relevant staff.
• Maintain clean, organised, and safe laboratory environments at all times.
