Job summary

The FitzWimarc School is seeking an organized safeguarding professional to support the Designated Safeguarding Lead and advise staff on child protection matters. The role suits someone with experience working with children in an educational setting and who can liaise with parents and external agencies.

You will handle referrals, maintain records, train staff, and contribute to safeguarding policies while supporting vulnerable pupils and their families.

Qualifications

• Background of working with children (11-18) preferably in an educational setting
• Experience in safeguarding would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Support the DSL with safeguarding and child protection across the school.
• Provide safeguarding advice, guidance and training to staff.
• Manage safeguarding concerns, referrals and records appropriately.
• Work with external agencies and attend multi-agency meetings.
• Support vulnerable pupils and families, including appropriate interventions and signposting.
• Monitor and support identified vulnerable pupil groups, including attendance and progress.
• Assist with safeguarding administration, audits, policies and compliance.
