Job summary

Salesian School in Chertsey, Surrey, is seeking a Premises Caretaker to join the team. The role involves daily maintenance to keep the two school sites safe, clean and well-presented for students, staff and visitors. You will work as part of a team under the Premises Manager and handle minor repairs as part of ongoing site improvements.

Salary ranges from £31,659 to £33,952 (PS6). Hours are 36 per week, 52 weeks per year, with shifts 10am-6pm and 12:30pm-8:30pm on a bi-weekly rotation.

Qualifications

• Experience in premises maintenance and caretaking
• Ability to perform basic repairs and use tools
• Awareness of health and safety requirements
• Clean driving licence is preferred
• Good communication with staff, students and visitors
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily premises maintenance and caretaking tasks
• Ensure school sites are safe, clean and well-presented for learners and visitors
• Assist with minor repairs and report larger issues promptly
• Work under the Premises Manager and coordinate with other staff as needed
