John Cabot Academy in South Gloucestershire is hiring a Premises Assistant (Level 2) to keep our buildings and grounds safe, secure and welcoming for students, staff and visitors. The role is full-time (37 hours per week), all year round, with a permanent contract and a provisional start date of 4 January 2026.

You will work closely with the Premises Manager to carry out repairs, maintenance, waste collection and basic security tasks, joining a supportive estates team committed to high standards

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of health & safety.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance.
• Qualification or training in building maintenance/grounds work or relevant practical experience.
• Formal training in chain saw operation and Manual Handling, or willingness to train.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
• Commitment to safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Responsabilités

• General repairs and basic maintenance of lighting, heating, and equipment.
• Waste collection and cleaning responsibilities.
• Porterage duties as required.
• Assist with site security, including alarms and key-holder duties.
• Support day-to-day operations under the Premises Manager.
