Job summary

John Cabot Academy in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire, part of the Cabot Learning Federation, is hiring a Premises Assistant (Level 2) to help keep the academy safe, clean and welcoming for students and staff.

The role involves general repairs, waste collection, porterage and basic maintenance of lighting, heating, and equipment, with responsibilities for site security and alarms. Experience is helpful, and training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• A basic understanding of health & safety.
• Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
• A recognised qualification or training related to building maintenance/grounds work or relevant practical experience.
• Formal training in chain saw operation and Manual Handling or willingness to undertake training.
• Commitment to professional development and self-evaluation.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• General repairs, waste collection, cleaning, porterage and basic maintenance of lighting, heating and equipment.
• Help maintain site security, including operating alarms and key-holder duties.
• Support day-to-day operation of the academy site under the Premises Manager and site team.
