Job summary

Westbrook Hay School is seeking a reliable Minibus Driver to join our school team from November 2026. You will transport pupils safely to and from school, ensuring punctuality and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere on board.

The role requires a D1 licence and prior minibuses experience, with a focus on safeguarding and timely routes. It offers term-time schedule, competitive hourly pay, and a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• D1 category licence is essential.
• Experience driving minibuses/large vehicles.
• Local road knowledge of surrounding areas.
• Experience in a school environment.
• Ability to work on your own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Obtain keys and check minibus is in good working condition for the journey.
• Complete driver log before the journey.
• Ensure daily list of names, addresses and parent contact details for travelling children.
• Plan the most effective route for the children on the bus.
• Collect children from the agreed pick up point.
• Load children onto the bus and ensure seat belts are worn.
• Deliver children to agreed drop off points.
• Return the minibus to school, complete driver log and leave the bus in a clean condition.
