Job summary

Driver Hire Leicester is recruiting D1 Minibus Drivers for school term-time roles across Nailstone, Blaby, Melton and nearby areas. You will transport children and vulnerable adults safely to and from schools, with an escort, ensuring wellbeing throughout the journey.

The role offers split shifts, typical hours 7:00-10:00 and 14:00-17:00, long-term ongoing temporary contracts, and locations across Leicestershire.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence with D1 Minibus entitlement.
• Minimum 2 years' driving experience.
• No more than 3 points on your licence.
• No DD or DR endorsements.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
• Own transport is essential due to the locations and shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Safely transporting children and vulnerable adults to and from schools, day centres and other activities.

D1 School Minibus Drivers - School Term Time

Locations: Nailstone | Blaby | Melton | Loughborough | Mountsorrel | Croft | Sapcote

We are currently recruiting D1 Minibus Drivers to join our team on long-term, ongoing temporary contracts, working during school term time.

This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced drivers who enjoy working with people and want to make a real difference to the daily lives of children and vulnerable adults.

The Role

You will be responsible for safely transporting children and vulnerable adults with special educational needs, including those with physical and/or learning difficulties, to and from schools, day centres and other activities.

Working alongside an escort, you will ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of all passengers throughout their journey, while following relevant policies, procedures, legislation and best practice.

There may also be opportunities to undertake additional daytime duties, such as post, meal and associated goods runs.

Shift Pattern

Split shifts - minimum 4 hours per day

Typical hours may include:

• 7:00am - 10:00am
• 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Exact hours may vary depending on the route and location.

Essential Requirements
