Job summary

Badminton School is seeking a Minibus Driver to join our transport team on a permanent, on-site basis in Westbury-on-Trym. You will operate a school minibus on a fixed route, ensuring pupil safety and adherence to road rules. The role involves term-time hours with mornings and afternoons and the potential for working both sessions.

Applicants must hold a full, clean D1 driving license and be comfortable with basic vehicle maintenance. Prior experience with children is preferred.

• Experience working with children or young people preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive school minibuses on a set route to transport pupils to and from school.
• Ensure pupils wear seatbelts and follow safety policies on board.
• Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks and report faults.
• Maintain health and safety awareness in daily duties.

Job description

Position: Minibus Driver

Location: On site, Westbury-on-Trym BS9 3BA

Hours: Working hours are Monday to Friday during term-time as follows:

For the morning service between: 06:30 to 08:45, For the afternoon service: 16:30 to 18:45

Applicants may apply to work either mornings or afternoons or both

The closing date for this position will be Wednesday 7th October

Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and the school reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.

We are currently looking for a minibus driver to join our team on a permanent basis. This is an addition role to cover one of our new routes.

Main Responsibilities

• Drive one of the school minibuses on a set route to transport pupils to and from school, driving skilfully and carefully, always within the legal speed limits and adhering to the highway code whether passengers are on board the vehicle or not
• Ensure pupils adhere to the safety policies whilst on route including ensuring that they wear seatbelts during each journey
• Ensure the vehicle is operating properly each day by carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks and reporting any faults for repair
• Have a general and constant awareness of Health and Safety whilst working

Qualifications

• Full, clean driving licence with a D1 classification
• Good knowledge of general vehicle maintenance
• Able to recognise and to deal appropriately with emergency situations
• Experience of working with children or young people
