Job summary

Courthouse Green Primary School is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to provide safe and orderly supervision during lunch and play periods. You will support children with meals, help maintain hygiene, and assist with preventing incidents in a busy school environment.

This role involves supervising pupils, supporting very young or less able learners with eating skills, and following safeguarding procedures. The position is 10 hours per week across 38 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground areas and school premises to maintain order and discipline according to school guidelines.
• Ensure pupils wash hands before lunch where appropriate and assist them to do so when necessary.
• Arrange an orderly start to lunch, seating, and monitor meal choices (hot food or sandwiches).
• Assist pupils in collecting food trays and serving meals as needed.
• Support very young or less able pupils with developing eating skills.
• Supervise and assist pupils to return waste food, plates and cutlery to appropriate points.
• Carry out ancillary duties such as wiping tables and cleaning spillages.
• Act as carer for sick children until medical assistance or guardian collects them; record major incidents as required.
• Organise playground/indoor activities and manage inclement weather scheduling.
• Follow fire and evacuation procedures and check pupils are safe.
• Assist with setting up/packing away tables, chairs, playground equipment or other equipment.
• Clear play areas of rubbish and lunch-related items at end of play.
• Attend training and meetings as required.
• Report safeguarding or health concerns to line manager promptly.
