Job summary

Windrush CofE Primary School in Witney is seeking a lunchtime supervisor to help supervise pupils, assist with meals and promote good eating manners. You will work under the supervision of teaching staff and follow school policies during the lunch period.

You will be part of a team dedicated to safeguarding, with opportunities to learn first aid and contribute to a safe, respectful environment for all children.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• First aid qualification would be useful but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Be on duty in allocated areas at the scheduled times.
• Supervise pupils to ensure good behaviour in and around school.
• Adhere to school policies and procedures (e.g. fire, accident reporting, safeguarding).
• Report accidents and seek assistance from first aiders as needed, until trained yourself.
• Refer queries by parents about pupils to the headteacher.
• Report incidents to the class teacher at lunchtime.
• Seek assistance from the headteacher or on-duty TA for serious misbehaviour.
• Assist pupils with clearing plates and cutlery and manage spillages.
• Supervise and assist with packed lunches.
• Promote good eating manners.
• Help children using a knife and fork.
• Refer to weekly lunchtime rota for duties.
• Assist in supervising playtimes to ensure safe play and adherence to rules.
• Engage in meaningful conversations with children in the playground to encourage interactive play.
