Job summary

Aspris is recruiting for a Chef/Head Cook at North Hill House, Frome, to plan menus, manage stock, cook meals and lead a small catering team in a school for autistic children.

You will work to Government Healthy Eating guidelines, maintain high hygiene standards, and ensure food safety compliance. Level 2 Food and Level 3 Supervising Food Safety certificates plus a food hygiene certificate are preferred; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must comply with Government Healthy Eating in Schools expectations.
• Menu planning, stock control, and budgeting within school policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook fresh well-balanced meals for pupils and staff.
• Collaborate with education staff to develop varied menus accommodating dietary restrictions.
• Ensure meals comply with food safety regulations and best practices.
• Maintain stock levels and accurate records per health and safety policies.
• Foster a positive dining experience with a welcoming atmosphere.
• Adhere to high standards of kitchen hygiene and equipment storage.
