Job summary

Chartwells Independent in Bishop Auckland is seeking a part-time Chef (25 hours per week) to deliver high-quality, appetising meals across our client sites. This role is contracted to 43.6 weeks per year and offers progression within a supportive team.

You will prepare and serve delicious food, help with menu changes, monitor stock, and uphold hygiene standards while representing the Chartwells brand with pride.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or NVQ equivalent required
• Food Hygiene certificate required
• Experience supervising a team is essential
• Experience in a similar Chef role preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers
• Oversee and implement menu changes
• Identify opportunities to improve food services
• Listen to customer feedback to improve services
• Support creation of new menus and food concepts
• Represent Chartwells and maintain a positive brand image
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens stocked
• Oversee kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
