Job summary

Chartwells, part of Compass Group UK&I, is hiring an ambitious Chef on a part-time basis (25 hours per week) contracted to 42.6 weeks per year. You will prepare and serve high-quality food, oversee menus, and contribute to innovative concepts while upholding hygiene and safety standards.

The role supports continual service delivery across education venues with a focus on customer satisfaction and brand reputation. DBS disclosure checks apply.

Qualifications

• Hold a City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Hold a Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience supervising a team.
• Experience in a similar Chef role.
• Be passionate about great-tasting food and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to continuously improve our food services
• Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts
• Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image
• Monitoring inventories to keep the kitchens well-stocked
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning and hygiene compliance
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
