Job summary

Chartwells Independent in Seaham is seeking an ambitious Chef for a part-time position (25 hours per week) contracted to 42.6 weeks per year. You will prepare high-quality food, oversee menu changes, and contribute to menu development while upholding Chartwells’ standards and brand image.

The ideal candidate will have supervision experience, hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or an NVQ equivalent, and a Food Hygiene certificate. A flexible approach to working is essential.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent required.
• Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Experience supervising a team preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services.
• Listen to customer feedback and act to improve services.
• Support creation of new menus and creative concepts.
• Represent Chartwells and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
