Job summary

Holroyd Howe, one of the UK's leading contract caterers for independent schools, is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Chef to join the kitchen team at Ashford School. You will support food preparation, help maintain high standards, and contribute to daily meals and events.

We prioritise allergen controls, food safety and fresh, seasonal menus. This role suits a proactive chef with contract catering experience who thrives in a school environment and wants training and career development

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef in contract catering, preferably in independent education.
• Passionate about fresh, seasonal food and presentation.
• Strong attention to food safety and allergen controls.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• A flexible and proactive approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
• Motivate the team to deliver high standards of food and service
• Ensure food safety and allergen controls are consistently met
• Contribute to innovative menu planning
• Manage mise en place and ensure smooth, timely service
• Support events and functions alongside school life
• Accountability for following and championing allergen controls
