Job summary

Compass Group UK&I, through Chartwells, is seeking a chef to join our education catering team in Amersham on a part‑time basis. The role is contracted to 32.5 hours per week across 42.6 weeks per year, with opportunities to grow within a market‑leading food service company in the UK.

You will prepare and serve high‑quality food, oversee menu changes, and strive to enhance our food services by listening to customer feedback and implementing improvements.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent is required.
• Food hygiene certificate preferred.
• Experience supervising a team is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services and cost control.
• Respond to customer feedback to enhance service quality.
• Assist with new menu concepts and seasonal dishes.
• Represent Chartwells and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor stock and inventories to keep kitchens well‑supplied.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
