Job summary

Barking Abbey School is seeking a Catering Assistant on a maternity cover basis to join the catering team and provide outstanding food provision across the school. The role is primarily based at Barking Abbey with possibility of supporting Eastbrook School within a wider partnership.

Role includes preparing meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring Safe Food Handling, with shifts 07:30-10:00am and potential overtime for events.

• Flexible to work occasional out-of-hours events.

Responsibilities

• Preparing high-quality food for students and staff.
• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and surrounding areas.
• Ensuring safe use of all machinery and equipment at all times.
• Assisting with loading or unloading deliveries and storing away.
• Representing the school and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards.
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations.
