Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is seeking a School Catering General Assistant for East London. The role involves assisting in meal preparation and service for students and staff, maintaining high hygiene standards, and supporting dining area setup and breakdown. A valid Enhanced DBS is mandatory.

Working Monday to Friday with shifts 9am–3:30pm, the position is temporary and week-to-week, covering East London areas including Whitechapel, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and more. Contact HRGO for details.

Qualifications

• Previous catering/food service experience required.
• Must hold Enhanced DBS registered on the online update service.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Good organization and attention to detail.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible shifts including mornings and afternoons.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and cooking of school meals.
• Serve meals to students and staff.
• Maintain kitchen and dining area hygiene and cleanliness.
• Set up and clear dining areas before/after meals.
• Follow health and safety regulations.
• Assist with inventory and deliveries.
• Provide excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors.
• Perform other duties as required by Catering Manager.
