Job summary

Berkeley Scott are currently recruiting a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join a school catering team in Swindon. This role supports meal preparation, serving, and maintaining hygiene standards in a busy school kitchen.

The successful candidate will have DBS checks, Food Safety Level 2 and allergens certificates (or willingness to obtain), and be reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team. Immediate start and ongoing work available.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• 2 references required.
• Food Safety Level 2 and Food Allergen certificates or willingness to obtain.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the catering team with the preparation and serving of meals
• Helping with food preparation and basic kitchen duties
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Washing up and keeping kitchen areas organised
• Assisting with stock and general kitchen duties as required
• Providing friendly and professional support to the wider school catering team
